Vacation Mode
Glencoe, Illinois
This builder-designed home had good bones and a family who loved it. What it was ready for was a fresh lens and a chance to catch up with the easy, coastal-inspired way this family of six actually lived. What began as a modest refresh of the main floor quickly turned into a full-house reimagining as they realized just how much possibility lived within their existing walls.

Rather than gut the structure, ANDREA GOLDMAN softened it—dialing back the formality, brightening the palette, and allowing a breezy, almost vacation-like mood to filter in. Once hindered by a challenging layout, the dining room is now a chameleon that’s equally ready for a game night, a casual supper, or a holiday crowd at a moment's notice. After twenty years in the house, the family finally feels like they’re truly inhabiting it—using rooms differently, gravitating to spaces that now reflect who they are today, not who the house expected them to be.
